One property or twenty, the details matter

Investment properties tend to be insured one at a time, as they’re bought, often with different insurers and renewal dates. Over the years that turns into a patchwork: one building in a personal name, another in a holding company, a condo unit with a tenant nobody told the insurer about, and an umbrella that only follows half of them.

Steve lays the whole portfolio out in one place, checks each policy against who actually owns the property and how it’s used, and shows you where the gaps are. When it makes sense, he’ll look at bringing properties together on fewer policies so they’re easier to manage.

Rentals and the family cottage

If you rent out the family cottage on Airbnb or VRBO in the summer, that’s rental use too, and it needs to be on the policy. See Muskoka cottage insurance for what changes when a cottage is rented.
